[General Scholarship Description]
Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United Kingdom. Up to forty Scholars are selected each year to study either at graduate or occasionally undergraduate level at an UK institution in any field of study. The scholarship allows the Scholars, who are the potential leaders, opinion-formers and decision-makers in their own country, to gain an understanding and appreciation of British values and the British way of life. It also establishes long-lasting ties between the peoples of Britain and the United States. Each scholarship is held for two years.

[General Scholarship Criteria]
This scholarship is available to: College Junior / College Senior / Graduate Students / College Sophomore

GPA requirement: 3.7

Open only to United States citizens who (by the time they take up their Scholarship) hold a first degree from an accredited four-year college or university in the United States with a minimum GPA of 3.7. To qualify for 2010 awards, candidates must have graduated from their first undergraduate college or university after April 2007, and not have studied for, or hold a degree or degree-equivalent from a British University.
